About Us

NZ Data is a New Zealand based owner-operated organisation.

 

Established in 2006 by Eric Thomson, NZ Data supports over 80 permanent staff across six locations (Wellington; Auckland; Christchurch; Palmerston North; Hamilton and Dunedin) and has over 200 certified subcontractor partners providing a complete nationwide coverage.

NZ Data has evolved through dedication and commitment from the people it has employed. Establishing a ‘can-do’ culture is only achievable by having the correct people. We firmly believe that we have the operational structure in place that enables people to function at their best and that our people believe in doing the best for our clients. We operate as a team in our engagement with clients, to provide consistency and continuity of services. It is important to us that we develop a partnership delivery engagement model that works for you – we are easy to work with.

Our Journey: 

NZ Data has embarked on the Digital Transformation journey. Our Digital Transformation strategy covers two specific areas:

• Transitioning our existing services model and capability to align to the emerging digital connectivity and infrastructure technologies – expanding our capability

• Leveraging NZ Data existing capability, boutique specialist service partners and independent Digital transformation consultants to provide focused digital transformation services to our clients – true partnership engagements.

Our strategy is an alignment approach rather than a ‘lift’ and ‘shift’ change to the existing NZ Data capability and delivery model. NZ Data is well down the journey of service alignment and as a result, NZ Data has created three new business focus areas:

Infrastructure Services

Service focus area is the physical connectivity layer, specifically data cabling, fibre, wireless deployments and datacentre solutions. This is NZ Data’s base service offering and we have been delivering these services since the start-up of the company.

Digital Transformation Services

Service focus area is digital enablement solutions and services. Digital enablement encompasses a broad range of value based supplementary services, including Digital Connectivity Solutions, Digital Transformation Advisory and Consulting Services. Our industry experts will offer guidance through the assessment process and if required, are able to co-ordinate and leverage across a wide range of subject matter, boutique specialist digital partners to deliver a wide range of digital solutions and services.

Managed Services 

Service focus area is to build out a centralised service specific capability that can provide repeatable services to our clients. We have developed a multitude of fixed fee infrastructure connectivity and value-based services making it easy for our clients to engage and have the confidence that services will be delivered according to agreed deliverables, within agreed service levels and at the right price. Our Managed Services was created to align to our client’s service management processes to offer a seamless extension of a wide range managed infrastructure services.
