Digital connectivity technologies are evolving, and telco-based technologies are positioned to solve connectivity challenges within closed communities, shopping malls, apartment blocks and hotels (multi-room environments). NZDD has recognised the opportunity to expand on our capability in this area to develop service engagement models and offer technologies-based connectivity solutions specific to these requirements.
NZDD has formed strong relationships leading vendors to deliver high-bandwidth telco type technologies within multi-room environments. Our solutions leverage telco grade technologies to run high-speed connectivity across any cabling types thereby offering rapid low-cost upgrade options. Together with our base infrastructure services, NZDD can offer standards based high bandwidth connectivity solutions, solving new world connectivity infrastructure for digital converged networks.
Passive Optical Network (PON) Solutions
Developed as a telecommunications technology, PON is a fibre point-to-multipoint architecture used to provide fibre to commercial and residential customers. PON is a viable solution for the provisioning of connectivity services within closed community environments, apartment blocks and hotels – behind the telco demarcation. Various bandwidth configurations can be supported, depending upon the split ratio design, manufacturing vendor and termination equipment. Bandwidths options range from 10/100Mbps (Ethernet PON), 1000Mbps (GEPON) and 10,000Mbps (10G-PON). PON can be used within the enterprise to drive down end device networking total cost of ownership (specifically green-field environments).
NZDD offers a wide range of services and vendor technologies for the delivery of PON solutions. Working alongside the NZ Data Infrastructure teams can provide a full end to end deployment and managed services of PON solutions.
Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS)
DOCSIS technology today provides data connectivity options leveraging existing cable TV (CATV) system. DOCSIS 3, 3.1 and 3.1 Full Duplex offer a range of bandwidth options up to 10-GMbps full duplex over coax. Deploying DOCSIS 3.1 over existing coax in closed community environments, apartment blocks and hotels can be considered as low-disruption – rapid deployment alternative to fibre or a shielded structured cabling solution.
NZDD offers a wide range of services and vendor technologies for the delivery of DOCSIS 3.1 solutions. Solutions can be standalone or delivered as part of a PON architected solution.
Fast
G.fast is a digital subscriber line (DSL) protocol standard for local loops shorter than 500 m, with performance targets between 100 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s. The advantage of G-Fast technology is that it can be deployed over existing twisted pair environments.
Deploying G.Fast over existing twisted pair cabling in closed community environments, apartment blocks and hotels is a low-disruption – rapid deployment alternative to fibre or a shielded structured cabling solution.
NZDD offers a wide range of services and vendor technologies for the delivery of G.Fast solutions. Solutions can be standalone or delivered as part of a PON architected solution.
